"Empowering Girls Through Horsepower"
About Us
CeeJae Fowler, Army Veteran and Founder of CherAmi Farms realized the need for mentorship programs in Russell County, Alabama in 2015. CherAmi Farms' mission is to uplift and encourage at-risk & under-served girls in the community through Equine Interactions, Education, Social Group Engagement, and Community Service.
What We Do
Operation ECHO Horsemanship Program has successfully mentored and educated over 250 participants in the Russell, Lee, and Muscogee County area since March of 2015. Through its STEM-based curriculum, the Horsemanship Program aims to provide prevention strategies for young girls by helping them gain valuable life skills, self-confidence, group interaction capabilities, entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Through our 12-week cycle, provided for no cost to the participants or their families, girls will learn about Safety, Grooming, Nutrition, Identification, First Aid & CPR, and Ethical Riding Practices.
What is Our Why?
We focus on providing our services to at-risk and under-served youth girls ages 12-16 who come from:
-
Poverty / Low Income Homes
-
Single / Absent Parent Homes
or
-
Active Duty Military or Veteran Dependents
Each one has a major factor of preventing them from being able to participate in Equine Activities. It is proven that being able to be involved with horses improves ones confidence, problem-solving skills, and communication skills. All of which can translate in to "real world" situations and aid in the growth of the girls who participate in our program.
