"Empowering Girls Through Horsepower"
Operation ECHO is our 100% FREE 12-Week Horsemanship Program that we offer to qualified applicants. Since 2015, we have proudly provided our program to over 250 youth in our community.
Why Horses for At-Risk Girls?
Horses "ECHO" us. They teach us how to control our emotions even when we cannot control other aspects in our lives. Below are just a few things that our program teaches:
Safety First
The most important lesson when dealing with horses is of course safety! Each one of our participants are given their own helmet and taught how to safely interact with horses, both physically and emotionally.
Developing
a Bond
Each participant is assigned to a team and team horse. Just as with people, they learn how important it is to create a bond built with trust and compassion.
Confidence Through Education
Each participant will learn more about horses than the average horseperson. They learn about safety, grooming, nutrition, identification and First Aid & CPR as well as riding skills.
Ethical Riding Practices
Through our multi-level riding program, each participant will learn the fundamentals of riding. But, more important, is that they learn that proper and kind communication, physically and verbally, is more effective.
Team Building Skills
Just as important as building an individual bond with their horse, participants learn how to effectively communicate and work with others.
Community Outreach
Each participant is required to donate their time to various other charities and learn how important giving back to their community is.
Rewards Through Determination
In order to earn continued enrollment, participants are required to pass various level tests and maintain a positive attitude both within the program and in outside situations.
Leadership Skills
As each participant progresses through our program levels, they learn how to become leaders and mentors to lower level participants.
